PHEW! Well, I’ve saved the best for last, folks. Here’s the final post for this Seoul installment…
OBVIOUSLY I had to go to a couple puppy cafes in Seoul. The first one we went to was Cafe Pawz, in Gangnam, which is definitely THEE cleanest, poshest puppy cafe that probably exists.
You can’t blame dogs for being dogs, and most puppy cafes do have a certain…odor. However, Cafe Pawz was immaculate, due to the super-scooper ajumma who was patrolling the cafe with plastic bags and a disinfectant spray in her hands at all times. We saw one guy piddle on a mop (which was actually rather considerate of him), but for the most part the dogs were pretty good at using the allocated toilet areas.
The fact that these were all super well-groomed Gangnam-style dogs also helped add to the cleanliness of the place.
Like most puppy cafes, Cafe Pawz offers boarding and grooming, as well as veterinary care and a spa!
We made so many furry friends ❤
For our second puppy pit-stop, we headed back to Hongdae to visit our favorite puppy cafe, SangSang Dabang.
A sign displaying all the resident puppies!
This place doesn’t do the same amount of grooming and boarding most puppy cafes do, and that’s what really sets it apart. There’s a main pack of dogs here who all live together all the time, so there’s hardly ever any tension; and since they’re all the owner’s pets, they’re all very well-behaved and act basically as any dog would inside its own house.
They’re also the snuggliest puppy cafe dogs we’ve ever met! This pregnant schnauzer was just the sweetest.
“Sorry guys, you’re not allowed to leave until you give us more snuggles!”
As if I hadn’t had enough cuteness for one day, I decided to drag Eoin to the ultra-pink Hello Kitty Cafe. SQUEEEEEEEEE.
As you’d expect, it’s Kitty EVERYTHING in here. They specialize in doing Hello Kitty-shaped cakes and lattes with Kitty-shaped chocolate sprinkles, buuut there was no soy alternative, so we just got some stinky, over-priced green teas.
Damn you, dairy!
The cafe itself was SOOO super cute, but the fact that it’s so popular kind of let it down. It was so hot and stuffy inside, and really smelled of B.O. Boke. Definitely not what you want to be smelling when you’re looking at pretty pink Kitty-ness everywhere.
